Learn to Ride
A welcoming first step towards confidence, independence, and fun on two wheels
Every rider starts somewhere. Our Learn to Ride activities introduce children to bicycle safety, balance, and basic riding skills in a supportive setting.
We offer standalone Learn to Ride sessions as well as incorporate these skills into our summer camps, beginner leagues, and recreational community group rides.
Whether your child is getting started or building confidence, we help them take the next step at their own pace. Contact us to find the right starting point for your child.
ENJOY
Community Group Rides
Ride together. Make connections. Enjoy the journey.
Our recreational community group rides bring children, families, and volunteers together to enjoy cycling and connect with others.
These rides focus on participation, encouragement, and having fun. We incorporate Learn to Ride support to help new riders build skills and confidence along the way.
Contact us to learn about upcoming rides and find an opportunity that fits your family’s riding experience.
COMPETE
Race Prep
Financial assistance is available upon request for USA BMX Membership and initial race fees.
COMPETE is for any child who has an interest in racing bicycles. We welcome all ages, skill levels, and most importantly experience is not required to introduce your child to the race scene. BMX racing begins as early as your child can start walking. Race prep will consist of track days, training with local race teams, and learning all that comes with the racing lifestyle.
We have future plans of accommodating your child if their interest is in racing Mountain, Downhill, Road, or Enduro.
MAINTAIN
Build Your Bike
A properly maintained bike helps create a safer and more therapeutic ride.
MAINTAIN is an extra curricular program we plan to offer soon that falls in line with our mission of battling mental health challenges through a unique outlet of cycling. Along with riding bikes, basic bicycle mechanic skills will help improve their minds as well as the bicycle your child will be riding. MAINTAIN will be available to all ages, as most basic bike maintenance only requires hand tools. We will be hosting monthly mechanics clinics.
Our yearly Pedal to the Mental Summer camp, run with Auburn Parks & Rec, has helped over 2,500 kids in Auburn and the Puget Sound area. It started as a test program funded by a King County grant and has now grown into a movement at Cedar Lanes Park in Auburn, Washington.
Summer Ride
Our goal moving forward is to expand our reach to more communities like Auburn, whose children can benefit from our free programming. Pedal to the Mental Summer Ride coming to a city near you!
Inclusion is important to us and we understand the sport of BMX racing although inexpensive compared to other more traditional sports, can still be financially impossible for some families. As Cycle Therapy Racing continues to grow, our support for our community grows as well. Below is a link to apply for our Pedal to the Mental™ Scholarship Program.
